Soprano Shannon Roberts holds dual Irish and U.S.citizenship.
She has a voice of great expansion and flexibility, coupled with musicality, stage presence and charisma. Ms. Roberts voice is perfectly suited for the dramatic as well as in the Italian Spinto and Bel Canto repertoires.
While opera is her main focus, she finds it both important and rewarding to collaborate with living composers. She has premiered works by many composers, including Nailah Nombeko, and Juilliard's award winning Bruce Lazarus.
Ms. Roberts is a multiple award winner receiving prizes from: The Wagner Society of New York, the Liederkranz Foundation, and the Lee Schaenen Foundation, among others.
Ms. Roberts has sung the leading roles of Turandot, Brünnhilde (Die Walküre), Tosca, Elsa, Agatha, Santuzza, and Suor Angelica. She has sung in many seasons and venues such as; Berlin Oper Projekt, Berlin Wagner Gruppe, Santa Fe Opera, The Florida Grand Opera, Natchez Festival of Music, Chelsea Opera, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, The Bronx Opera, Lyric Opera of New York, and Bel Cantanti.
Ms. Roberts attended the Hartt School of Music, received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, and was awarded a Special Artist's Diploma from Miami's prestigious New World School of the Arts.
